Game Buzzer
Use this buzzer to play quizzes or other games. Two students can be at the IWB and hit the button when they know the answer to a question being read out by the teacher. The resource will show who hit the button first by lighting up and playing a buzzer sound. Once illuminated the display dims one light at a time which can be used as an indicator for when the answer has to be spoken by. http://www.teacherled.com/resources/quiz/quizload.html |

Variation: Give each student a single five yen coin as a "free pass." They get one free pass per game so when it is their turn they can choose to give me a guess or forfeit their "free pass" coin. If they turn in their coin, play continues on their team with the next person in line. OR, At the end of class, offer students to climb Mt Fuji on their own to win a prize.
Helpful hints: Have a stuffed animal, hat, or a Japanese flag for each team which gets passed to the person whose turn it is. It is also helpful to put some of the more difficult words at the beginning of the game since they get repeated over and over and over. I offer a chance for students to challenge climbing Fujisan on their own to win a prize at the end of class or after school or some other time. That way kids who know all the words can still get a prize or feel like they have been successful even if they were on the losing team.

get the points value for their team, and if not, the other team gets a chance to "steal" the same amount if it guesses the right answer. Click on the "See Answer" button to see the correct answer. Click on the "Return to question board" to go back to the main screen. The team with the most points at the end is the winner.
